OPL’s stud llamas have excellent pedigree and temperament and never fail to perform on long backcountry pack trips over rugged terrain. They are very intelligent and have great structure and agility with the drive to perform in all situations. The Ccara breed has been known for these packing characteristics back to the time of the Aztecs, which is also why “temperament” is such an important trait that we look for in our breeding program. Clark and Duke have excellent personality traits and are easy to work with. Typically, if breeding to our males it’s recommended that the female stays with us for approximately 2 months here in Forest Grove, Oregon. This ensures a much higher rate of success. Your llama will be well taken care of with great facilities, shade/cover, and plenty of feed, water and vitamin supplements.

Duke is everything you would ever want in a Ccara llama. He plays a huge part in spearheading the direction of our breeding program. From confirmation to attitude to athletic ability, he’s truly a packer’s dream. He has part of his father’s heavy bone structure and holds an extremely tall and athletic build that suits him well in the backcountry. It’s funny to watch him play with his pasture mates because he has the build of one who could throttle his friends in a wrestling match, but he’s so nice that he usually lets the others win.

Clark is one of our tallest boys with a very athletic build. He has the personality of his grandpa, Nicholas Cage, who was an all-around amazing llama! When Clark was just a cria, he got a cut between his toes and we were worried it would affect his packing ability, but after months of healing and treatment, he made a full recovery and is an essential member to our pack string and breeding program.
Before arrival, please complete the following:
1. Review and sign our “Breeding Contract”.
2. Pay a non-refundable $250 deposit at time of arrival.
3. Provide verification that your female is current on vaccinations.
4. Complete a Veterinary Fecal Sample Analysis that checks for parasites and send us the report for review.
5. The female should be in good health and of good weight. Send us present weight.
6. Pay the remainder of the stud fee when the Cria is born.

The Oregon Pack Llama Guarantee
***We guarantee a live birth. If your female does not give birth to a live cria, then you only pay the deposit. The non-refundable $250 deposit will cover expenses incurred by OPL to care for your llama during the approximate 2-month stay with us. Stud Fee is $500 (includes the $250 non-refundable deposit).
